God's Country (N.C. Ia) | Thanks to everyone for the input. Pushing some numbers on some 850wt steers. Thinking maybe try to stretch them out to October, but thinking selling the corn for cash today will beat feeding them by a bit. If I was gonna fill the lot, I’d be inclined to get them priced at these levels. I don’t have deep pockets for the market risk at this time.
As far as corn price, through ‘21, I really look for it to go down. I know there’s a lot of demand right now, but we always seem to grow a pretty big crop in this great land. Wondering if I should short the board, and plan to buy back when the steers are fat, but not sure if I want to gamble that big. On the other hand, say we have a weather scare this year, and I could really crap the bed with my thoughts.lol | |
