That’s fine if it works for you. Your conditions may be different. Must have cheap electricity. I’m saying here, if crop is still in the field @ thanksgiving, most likely dealing with wetter soil, more chance of compaction, losses add up, and better than 50/50 chance you aren’t going to get much else done to that field. Saving a dime can cost a dollar elsewhere. Putting up a bunch of small bins isn’t exactly cost effective either.
Lots of ways to do it. Big bins can dry just the same just have to keep depth manageable. Have three main bin sites. Just takes some shuffling and not running balls to the wall when it’s 22%.
Finishing up later made me money this year for sure. I usually have some overage to ship late harvest. By the time I had finished up cash corn had put on $1/bu. |
