The yield maps will be stored for later analysis, though you can view field summaries live in the combine.

FieldView works by reading the information in the vehicle’s CANbus (header height, gps position, yield information for combines). The FieldView Drive plugs into the combine’s diagnostic port and sends the CANbus data by Bluetooth over to the FieldView Cab app running on an iPad. The iPad matches up the yield information with the gps position and builds a yield map. The map will be saved on the iPad and then synced up with the Fieldview website when the iPad gets an internet connection. Once the data has been processed on the website you can draw zones in different parts of your field to see how the yield changes. For example, imagine that halfway through planting you were running low on fertilizer and reduced the rate to make sure you could finish the field. You could draw a region around the section with full rate fertilizer and another around the partial rate fertilizer to see what the difference in yield is. If you have planting maps you can import them into FieldView and compare the yield of different hybrids/variety/population.
