We did our basement office with epoxy. It was the basic tan epoxy with the black and white chips from menards. They also sell this same variety in gray. You need two people to do it because it dries fast. We put the tan epoxy down with a roller and then evenly sprinkled the chips. The chips are the hardest part, buy extra because you may need them if you get carried away with it. After that we put on a clear lacquer with a roller. I would recommend this last step because the chips will want to come loose if they are not lacquered down. Looks like a million bucks was quick cheap and easy and super durable.

Don't try the fancy techniques with blending different colors. My brother in law tried that and was unhappy with how it turned out. It takes a lot of experience to blend different colors or add swirl effects and make it look right.
