NW IA
I’ve been doing this for five years now with a 36 x 22 foot bin.
Starting at 18% is about ideal. I have a ten horse centrifugal fan on my bin and haven’t used the burner yet. I have in my favor the fact that I only have one bin and take out three to four mixers full of corn per week.
I also started in the low twenties two years ago. Having the option of running the stirator with the fan as an insurance policy is good for peace of mind.
The corn went in at 14% this fall so no worries next spring at warmup.
There are plenty of cash croppers who air dry 20% corn this way every year.
