How far does the cement extend from the waterer?
Here it is easy to dig a ditch and hook a garden hose or fire sprayer hose to a 1.25 piece and wash it in 40 ft. Have went 60 ft. No idea if that would work in your area.

If you can put in a overflow, a little bit of water running, is a lot cheaper than a tank heater.

Also set the float level to shut off when the tank is 1/3 or 3/4 full. Then the bleed valve can run for several hours before the tank even runs over.

For this year, you could put a heated hose or a hose with a heat tape, inside a pipe.

Everyone loves their Corbet waters, and say they only break ice once a day! WTF, I don't want to break ice once a week!

Personally I would use a tank so more cattle could drink at once. Maybe even a tire tank.

First 3 picture's are of a old Richie water with most of the insulation gone. I can plug this one in if needed. Other one does not have power to it. It don't have a bleed valve. The overflow tube has a vee in it and water level is set to run a bit over. Overflow on it runs through the pvc pipe and then into a 100 ft of preferred drain tile.

Second waterer has a bleed valve. It does not have power anywhere near it. It over flows into a ditch. Put it in as temporary, 3 years ago.

Neither of these waters had heaters on, and I haven't needed to chop ice on either one of them. Night before last, it got down to - 37.8 F.
