| If you're mowing or growing row crops, the kura takes care of most weeds. Generally, we mow and apply the 1 qt of glyphosate in the spring and that is all we need for good weed management. We have had trouble with thistle before, but that's after letting the kura go for a few years without growing corn or regular forage cuttings.
Some friends at the University of Wisconsin have used 35 oz. gluphosinate for chemical suppression with good success. One paper reports using glyphosate along with 0.06 lb a.e./acre dicamba for suppression and a mix of 0.25 lb dicamba, 0.05 lb flumetsulam, and 0.13 lb clopyralid to kill banded strips instead of strip-tilling.
I can't answer much about bugs, but slugs can be an issue. We're not sure what triggers them, but have lost a stand in the past due to slugs.
Were planting beans into a 40-acre field this year and this will be my first experience with soy in KCLM. I'll be sure to share how it goes.
