John they build them different in the north than in the south and especially in Texas. there are many ways to combat the Ice issues not sure if the builders in the south don't or if they don't care? Maybe its just a cost issue but its not the windmill that failed its the builders in Texas ( could be anybody in the south) that failed.
Did you know that most Ice is picked up from rotation through cold humid air, not from falling precipitation?
Natural Gas supplies fall.. a lot, refineries shutting down.. etc.
