Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | This could be a neat way to install diodes by using a fuse holder. You would need two for every section. Cut the normal trigger line and install a fuse holder and diode. Attach another fuse holder at the point where the first fuse holder was attached to the valve trigger wire. In other words at that point there would be two wires (one from each diode) connected to the valve trigger wire. The loose end of the second diode would go to a switch or the wireless receiver. That way either system could "turn ON" the valve. Both would need to be OFF or the valve would remain Open.
These diodes may not be necessary but I feel it is a good idea to prevent the remote system from back feeding into the regular system and vice versa. Back feeding might cause problems in certain situations.
Those systems that use a manual switch such as a SPDT type would not need diodes since the valve would be connected to the normal source or to a "hot" source and there would be no concern about back feeding. |
