Subject: RE: Ethanol plants and Electricity

BShauler - 2/14/2021 19:39 Would using the Ethanol to power a steam generator to produce electricity be efficient enough to be more viable than selling the ethanol for fuel. Farmers would win. And we would have a backup plan for solar and wind.

If you're going to make ethanol to burn to make electric it would make a lot more sense to skip the ethanol part and just burn the corn to generate electric.

And if you're going to do that it would make more sense to burn wood (there's plenty of it laying on the ground in our national forests) or waste (instead of burying it) instead of burning something to generate steam that can be used for food production.

Ethanol is a liquid fuel, if you're not going to use it for something that needs a liquid fuel there's no reason to make it.
