Southwest Iowa | Cows due to calve in March. Feeding them about 30 lbs dry 1st cutting alfalfa/orchard grass. Alfalfa is pretty thin. 3.5lbs whole shell corn. Free choice salt and mineral. Rural water. Feeding this ration all winter. Had one cow last week not come to feed or eat when I walked her up to the feed. Cows are in good body condition. Next day she was dead. Now I have another cow that wasn’t interested in eating today. This is in a group of 50 cows. Hay is unrolled and corn is fed in piles. What am I possibly dealing with? | |
