Electric drive isn't the issue at all. Laturnaeu built electric driven construction machinery for decades. Diesel electric has been around a long long time. If you think electric drive is the issue you're missing the point.

It's battery power that is the issue. Along with how we charge those batteries. A lot of power grids are maxed out, or so they say. There's only so much off peak charging we can do before we're back at the limit of the power grid.

Then there's the power generation issue to supply the grid. Lot of money is going to be spent to switch from a fuel delivery network to a larger electric power distribution network.
