mercer county, il | I made some like that for a similar project, I just used 12 ga mild steel and bent it over different sizes of pipe, then bent a corresponding chunk of 1/4 inch round stock and spot welded it on the underside and to the stalk. Used 1 1/4 pipe at the bottom, then 3/4 then 3/8 at the top, slid inside of one another and welded. I used stainless tig filler rod for the tassels, and stainless mig wire for the silks, and left it unpainted.
I’d love to post a picture, but some bastard stole both the stalks and the sign between them, and I decided it wasn’t worth the trouble to make something nice just to have some moron steal it. | |
