Straw is a classic value added commodity. It has a laying in the field on a warm sunny day in July value. Then there's the value it has this week delivered with twine around it...on an icy road at 30 mph......at zero on the Fahrenheit scale....upon a truck with a bad heater. We're getting $160 a ton this year. Price peaked last year at over $200 because weather wasn't favorable for cornstalk baling.
Anyone knowledgeable on wheat straw?
