Subject: RE: Wheat potential freeze damage

Nc Ks.
Most of our wheat planted after bean harvest is pretty small. Got it barely covered with snow except for some terrace tops in spots. Been bitterly cold here {for us} lows as low as -2 and worse is yet to come. -7, -10 and -14 for upcoming lows. Only remember one other year maybe 25 or so years ago getting to minus double digits. Snow is predicted here too but every cold snow I remember the snow is just light and fluffy. Given the way the wind likes to blow here, that won't do the wheat much good. Just fill the ditches.
