A friend said that banks were awash with cash , including ppp money. They don’t want deposits , they want loans that are collateralized with nice collateral, to people with good credit and to people with the proven ability to repay. I suspect most people which fit the afore mentioned criteria are paying down loans, not increasing exposure.
