Southern MN
Like every other govt programs create winners and losers. Friend quit farming in 2018, did not receive the large ARC payments our county got from the wet years previous. He could have really used the money. Huge differences between counties, if you farm in two counties and sign up in the wrong one or right one could make a huge difference in payment per acre. Ask for loan forgiveness you are not eligible for more money. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong on this but don’t the better growing regions subsidize the poorer growing regions as far as crop insurance goes? Seems everyone on here is either condemning someone else for what they are doing or putting themselves on a pedestal because they think they are above it. There is only one answer, get rid of all of it. True competition, only the best and most dedicated to what they do survive. But that is not the country we live in anymore and that country is not coming back.
