Subject: RE: Soybean Row Spacing Question

NorthWest Mississippi
I have planted 7.5 with a drill and did not like it at all.The next year I planted with a 30 inch planter and was not satisfied with that either. The 3rd year I switched to 15 inch rows on a planter and have not looked back.I love them! 7.5 canopied too quick and I do not like the unreliable seed depth and many other things about a drill. My post herbicide treatment did not reach little weeds underneath and they broke through canopy about flower time.30 inch did not canopy fast enough after post spraying and allowed escapes.15 inch rows have been the sweet spot for me on soybeans.I would not consider anything else on soybeans.Just my personal experience “here”.I run a 3 pre program and follow with a post and pre to layer. That is usually all the spraying I do on beans.I try to apply my second pre/post no more than 21 days after the application of the 3 pre preplant application.Works for me.Kill em before they are a weed.
