Eastern Shore of MD | Good illustration. For us 60 bu beans is probably equivalent to 170 corn but we generally have a positive basis in corn and negative in beans. My analysis back in Nov when we ordered seed said plant soybeans so we shifted some more acres that way.
There is always a but.... when I put in a $30/acre NON GMO corn seed cost vs $60 or so for soybeans on our marginal ground, it makes corn a competitive option for rotation of ground. | |
