I call this one out so Just because the boomers have it now doesnt mean they will forever, face it, people get older and things change, So your trying to tell me that the boomers when they were 20 years old had 54% of us household wealth then too or was it that the greatest generation was holding the majority of us household wealth and then almost two generations have since passed and now the majority is held by the boomer generation. Because thats logical and its logically what will happen as time marches on.
If we reel the clock back to 1989, which puts the Baby Boomers at the point the millenials are now (late 20s-early 30s), they controlled over 21% of total US household wealth.
This is a big problem and it is going to be painful for the US. The wealth is not there in these next groups to support our consumer driven economy, and Baby Boomer spending is slowing as they focus on retirement living. My employer, which is heavy in the consumer industry, is focused on this with major concern.
