A wise old landlord once told me you can't take it with you , you just need enough to get there on. Was pretty good advice.
I can't take it with me but I can set my kids and God willing grandkids up to have a easier go of it. If I have done my job correctly they will have the financial sense, moral compass and work ethic to keep the ball rolling in the right direction. My family and I are where we are in life not just because of the decisions I have made but also because of the decisions my Father and Mother made, my Grand parents made and my Great Grandparents made. Not all in my family tree have made good unselfish decisions but many many have and over more than a century success and good fortune have found us.
When you get to the finish line you realize the fun was in the race. Work hard, make the best decisions you can at the time, leave a legacy and enjoy the race along the way. |
