West Kentucky | I would say that if you don’t have time to discuss new hybrids with a seed dealer, then you probably aren’t really interested in trying something new. There are dozens of things that each company does that can affect the way their product performs compared to another, even if it is the same hybrid. I have seen double digit yield differences in the exact same hybrid from different companies replicated across the field. I would say if you just want cheap corn, they would give you a price, but too many other things to consider before price even enters the discussion if you are interested in maximizing yield and profit. Nobody gets it right all the time, but a brief conversation could potentially make you a lot of money. | |
