That picture is the hall effect sensor which is the same as a potentiometer. This measures voltage left, right or center that ranges from 0-5 volts (center 2.5 volts, Left 1.5 volts, Right 3.5).

Autosense is using gyros. Trimble's version is the IMD-900 ( picture attached).

We use hall effect sensors for 1 mph or under applications and autosense is rated at 1mph or higher generally.
