East central Iowa

The egg in the video came from the refrigerator.

It was boiled in the manner I stated, and returned to the refrigerator.  I eat one boiled egg each day at noon and got tired of messing around peeling them but didn't want to peel a ½ dozen and let them set.

So, each day I grab a boiled egg and do this to peel it.  I don't mind having ½ dozen or so sitting in a bowl in their shell.

We did try other methods to boil them and this one has given me a consistent result when it peels, others didn't.  I kind of wish I could find a  rectangular jar with a harder lid but as you saw, this works.  Just need to know when to stop knocking the egg around or you'll tear the egg apart sometimes.
