My mom was a great cook. Unbelievable knowledge of how to put a great meal together. I wish I had asked her more about it. I still have her recipes, but most of the time she didn't use them.
She would fix full meals for a trashing crew of 8-10 men. Main dish, sides, bread, pie, ect. This was before electricity came here too. I remember her saying that the cream was stored in the wellpit to stay cool.
