Alberta
I buy most of my stuff used. I have a plan of where I want to be down the road and check classified for decent deals when I see something I may need for my plan. Eg. I just bought 2 nav controllers for 1500 US each. No need for them now but down the road I may need them. Bought a bunch of gps stuff in a box. $1200 US. Included 300 modems, radioantennas wiring, ag 25 anntena, trimble 262 reciever, 2 insight monitors, and an ez steer. EZ steer alone was worth that, the rest was free and I could sell. If you know what stuff is worth, you know when there is a deal on something. 5000 budget would get you a decent rtk monitor fm 1000 or 750 unlocked to rtk and an ez steer if you look. You don't have to use the rtk but the option is there. You can by the rtk base down the road or subscribe. I would not buy a used monitors that is not unlocked. Far better chance of selling them if you want to upgrade better down the road.
