You are welcome. I am glad you found some of the information worthwhile.

A ketogenic diet is a low carb diet. The only difference is with a ketogenic diet the carbs are taken to a low enough level the body is in nutritional ketosis most of the time.

For metabolically healthy people that is usually around 50 grams carbs or less. For diabetics or people that are insulin resistant it may take as low as 20 grams carbs a day to be in nutritional ketosis. I consider anything under about 120 grams a day as being "low carb". A SAD diet following the food pyramid is supposed to be around 300 grams a day.

So a person can be low carb and yet not ketogenic. But a ketogenic diet is always a low carb diet. If you keep the carbs very low you likely are in ketosis at least some of the time if not most of the time. Ketones tend to be very anti-inflamatory compared to most of the energy supplied as glucose.
