South Georgia | Your original plan is not overkill. My system is setup similar to that and it works great. You are onto the right concept. Use the PTMP airMAX equipment to connect your remote sites to the router. Install a POE switch at the remote sites so that you can connect your Nanostation, Unifi outdoor AP, and buy cheap Unifi Indoor AP to install inside of the steel building. Since you will have a robust backhaul, you can connect cameras to the switch as well as well. This is basically how my system is setup. Some of my sites are not line-of-sight back to the internet source, so I used another pair of Nanostations and hop from one site to the next. If one node goes down the outdoor APs will failover and mesh together, but the connection is much slower when they do. | |
