north central Ohio | Tried a race horse pioneer 0825 three years in a row. Year one was not good said our placement was poor so second year placed it better yielded awesome third year same type of ground as second but had some early wet stress did very poor again. This is my typical experience with race horse corns. If weather is very good with little stress their worth it. Issue is we normally get at least one good stressing event every growing season that really takes the top out of a race horse hybrid. Plus most of our farms have soil types that are complete opposites that we really try to pick corn that isn’t as picky. | |
