On first thought it appears grain farmers have hit the jackpot, high grain prices along with government payments. After giving this consideration I realized things might not be as they appear. I would guess that many out there, myself included, sold a significant amount of their 2020 crop at much lower prices than we now have. Couple that with higher equipment, rent, input etc prices and much of the shine goes off things real quick. Wonder how much of the 2020 crop, on a national level, was sold at the pre-runup prices leaving those who sold then still living in the world of lower crop prices and higher prices elsewhere?
