extreme sw ,Ontario | How things change , a few wanted to go away from single desk selling and in Ontario that Ag minister carol mitchell took it away with a stroke of a pen & now I see Alberta wants to vote on bringing it back.......
Future of independent hog production looks like it hinges on who/how you can sell/market your hogs as in Ontario in 2020 the spread between packer deals for the yr. was probably around $50 a hog difference ....
Ontario has everything to be competitive in hog business expect enough packers----not cheap sending hogs to Quebec, Manitoba and a few still go south to US.........
