Yes I should look at the vinegar or acid flush process more in depth. I know I will be doing it more often than the standard 500hr interval suggestion.

My initial pick when I first started researching was the hybrid electric heat pump style but I quickly got turned off on those based on all the horror stories I read. I don’t feel like they have those figured out to be in the running yet.

I can fit 1 70gal tank plus a tankless but I don’t have room for 2 tank type heaters. Honestly, if I switch over to tankless, I may leave the 50gal electric tank sit where it’s at and just drain it and take it out of service in the case I ever had an issue I’d have a backup ready to go seeing how it’s still working.
