coast of Maine | Many never happen.I have a farm signed up(not my best ground ) over two years ago,went in with saying what the heck 2% chance of it ever happening,fast forward ,this week they may issue final permits(lots of greeny weanies here) at hearings,start construction 2 months away,hmm,land tied up 25 years,I pay land tax and thats it.Land there for grand children maybe if still farmers.I am able to either do this or sell to homes.Makes more sense to me to maintain ownership and lease(heirs benefit )So I am at 98% point of happening.I have picked up additional land and when the payments start will buy another farm,,,maybe.Not scared at all,way less risk than ag in this area. | |
