SW So Dakota | Last fall there was definitely a premium being paid for bigger calves. With the run up in the price of corn in the last month a green 5 weight steer is now worth about the same dollars per head as a 7 weight steer. This happens time after time, I understand why it happens but it still seems crazy. From what I've seen in the last week $1030-$1050 will buy just about any weight of steer you are looking for. | |
