SE IL and SW IN | This program is still a UNICORN and should be avoided like the plague.
There are lots of folks lining up to extract the meat out of the program, with none of them willing to commit to the basic research needed to make it work. It was only a decade ago that soil scientists stood in a soil pit in Southern Illinois and argued that meaningful amounts of soil carbon could not be sequestered in the soil in amounts that can be measured over a decade. We know now that it can be done, and undone in significantly less time. Without a commitment of the scientific community on a scale never seen in AG, this will continue to be CRAZY. | |
