I wondered same thing. Want to try chopping beans as an experiment. If it worked and tested close to same as alalfa I'd like to try to time planting a quarter of beans to be ready to chop same time as one of the alfalfa cuttings. Do one big pile one time (beans and alalfa) and use the other cuttings of alfalfa for dry hay. Drill something to graze weaned calves on in fall after the beans
