That's a tough question to answer, do you have the down payment? Do you have sufficient equity/collateral to finance it? Do yo have enough rented land or off farm income to cash flow it? If you answered yes to all of those then there really isn't any reason not to buy? Maybe you could work some kind of contract for deed or something with your dad to buy some of that land now?
