I can see where that would be a problem particularly if your doctor is tied in with a large medical institution.
Our family doctor had his own practice for many years. In the last couple years we had him before he retired he sold out to a hospital chain. Then when we visited him he seemed a lot more constrained in what he would or could say. The hospital had certain "standard of care" practices he had to abide by or go before a review.
Our new doctor is a young guy and seems to stay up on research and had no problem prescribing it. He is an independent with only him and his nurse/reciptionist in the small office. We really like him. He does not seem constrained by protocol and seems to listen to new ideas (like our diet and results).
Our problem was not getting it prescribed but finding a pharmacy that had it in stock before we traveled.
We printed out the Protocol on the FLCCC web site and took it to our doctor to read.
