Wisconsin | I've even heard the production isn't hurt by the panel's shade if the panels are high enough. They're not installed high enough, just thought it was fascinating. I don't worry too much about the panels being a liability in the future like wind turbines. I think we're at a pretty low point in the price of panels, they don't typically break, they decline in production, so most will still be putting out most of the power they ever produced 30 or 40 years from now. The wild card is if there's any lead solder in them, then you might be paying by the pound for hazardous waste disposal of any failures.
If you think they can't go bankrupt, some already have. If you think the bond will be there when it's needed, history shows it usually isn't.
