So many teachers in our school want cell phones not allowed. In my shops (wood, welding and engines) I teach them to use their phones as a tool. Small engines rebuild especially carb linkage is easier with a photo of the linkage before taken apart. Finding specs is so easy now. So I guess my thought is to not fight it, teach them. All summer in the barn working their 4H dairy steers the grandkids weren't on their phones. Unless it was to take a picture. More photos of kids and calves now than when our girls were their age with their cattle. So there are good sides to this technology also.

Have a student whose mom has something on his phone and can tell where he is and how fast he is going. Interesting concept, glad my folks didn't have that technology!!!!
