Subject: RE: Insurance on appliances

Difference in warranty and insurance . We have homeowners that include appliances. We had a bad lighting storm in July or August of this year. Long story short , it hit the windmill , next to swimming pool, next to my house. A tick over 60,000 dollars in appliances, pool pump, pool cleaner , that was in pool at the time,TVs, computers, heating and cooling units , back up generator, garage doors, embroidery machine , ( 15,000) , not sure we have everything back to normal yet . We were very fortunate, that our house did not burn , we have the fiberglass insulation, and I think that is the only reason it didn’t , every outlet in house that I’ve inspected , has black smoke around it . Insurance adjuster said we were unlucky, had to correct him , we were the luckiest people on earth that day .
