There is a theory that clicking on the unsubscribe message just notified them that you are indeed a real working email address, and they can charge more to sell your address to more scammers. So it is a bad idea to click on those unsubscribe buttons......
You can’t really stop emails from coming to you.
You can filter them, many email hosts and email programs have such software built in. The goofy messages tend to go into a junk folder and you don’t see them unless you go check your junk folder every week or so. Sometimes this feature is automatically set up, sometimes you need to turn it on, or ‘train’ it a little by suggesting which types of emails should get sent there.
I just got a spam message in German, I believe some gal wants to discuss something either important or intimate with me! Such a deal.
