I have a Kindle and my wife has a Nook. Both work fine. My Kindle is a newer paperwhite and I like it. It it lighter than a book and you can read without a good light. The battery last a long time between charges. As mentioned lots of free stuff and even best sellers are much cheaper than print editions. Being Prime members helps too.
And you don't end up with a bunch of books to give away or try to sell.
