I have a CD attachments brand grapple. It's very well built, I haven't had to weld on it yet, it's over 5 years old, paid under $1800 for it . It's on a 75 hp s220 , I don't think a 40 hp machine can hurt it.
If fence rows/brush is its purpose, I prefer an extra wide grapple as it offers extra protection for the wheels and machine. I have steel tracks on the wheels really makes it a beast for brush . Only negative is the flat face couplers.
Also Has turned out to be great for shed manure.
