Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | Husband and I have had close to 100 since Thursday. I read a report that it's a known issue among cell providers and they're trying to find a stop for it. The phone rings only once or twice, and stops, no message. They're saying that the scammers are hoping someone will call back on one of the (dozens) of numbers, thus opening the door for mega charges on your cell service. If you open your phone as tho you're going to make a call, you'll have 3 little vertical dots at the upper right of your screen. Click those>settings>block numbers, and enter the foreign area code followed by seven ******. The **'s represent digits following the area code, so you've blocked the entire area code. It's worked fairly well here, not perfect but better. |
