If you have it balanced right, it takes very little effort to tip back upright. I"m 6'6: and I can swing one arm out and back in to get it to tip either way. Need to use it again - pulling out fence posts by hand last weekend got a few things a bit on the protesting side of the equation....

Sounds like you need to lengthen out the foot holder another notch.
