If you only ever want to print black and white a lazar printer is defiantly your best bet. HP printers are an endless money pit, they sell the printers at a loss then screw you over on the ink. Your cartage isn't empty its probably just dried out from not using it for a while and I don't think there's a way to fix it.
How can I force my HP printer to print black only?
