This subject can be controversial but have you been tested for sleep apnea? When you mentioned falling asleep upright in the chair, it was the first thing that popped into my mind. If it was quiet and comfy, I could fall asleep in a chair after breakfast before I got tested and got a cpap. They are not for everyone but a cpap has changed my nights into a much more rested situation.
