ok, i have to ask, Would you be better off putting up a seperate gate post instead of using the post connected to the roof? Sometimes bad things happen to gates and their posts
not really worried about the gate connected through the roof-something will shear somewhere-the post connection will support over 10,000#-the gate will be shut 99.9% of its life-theres a 7/8inch pin holding it
8ft over there is another 3 ply 2x8 to take pressure-the bunk line also adds stability-I understand your concern- I have thought about that -on every project-
I like the post and connection up out of the way-when I clean with the payloader-we do not want a post to go around as we push along the curb
Look at lot of cattle buildings and always made mental notes on how no one takes in to count -the guy cleaning the building shouldn't have to run into-posts, and obstructions |
