They knocked it down pretty quickly, but it was definitely a second choice after the brome bale disappeared. Unfortunately my wheat is running short and the feed bill is going up.


Wheat straw usually has a better nutrient profile but oats straw will work too.
Just need to make sure that they get enough protein and energy to digest enough of the straw to keep them going.

When it was available to me fescue aftermath (straw) makes some pretty good dry cow grub.
Just added a bit of alfalfa to it and that seemed to work pretty good.
